SDN Solutions Integration for a Highly Efficient Network

Unlock the Full Potential of WiFi 7/6E/6 with Multi-Gigabit PoE++/PoE+ Ports

Featuring 8x PoE++ and 16x PoE+ 2.5G ports, the switch is capable of future network expansion and deployment, providing sufficient bandwidth for incoming WiFi 7/6E/6 APs. Designed to use a single Ethernet cable for both data and power transmission, it supports up to 500 W total PoE power budget* and flexible installation to fit in various application scenarios.

Enterprise Switch with 10G Uplink

4× 10 Gbps SFP+ slots provide non-blocking switching performance and ultra-low latency, so reliable and lightning-fast connections to the server and other switches are easily built.

Software Defined Networking (SDN) with Cloud Access

Omada's Software Defined Networking (SDN) platform integrates network devices, including access points, switches and gateways, providing 100% centralised cloud management. Omada creates a highly scalable network-all controlled from a single interface. Seamless wireless and wired connections are provided, ideal for use in hospitality, education, retail, offices, and more.

Advanced L3 Features

An abundance of L2+ and L3 features are supported to help build a highly scalable and robust network, providing a reliable and efficient solution for enterprises, campuses and ISPs.

Secure Networking

Security features include IP-MAC-Port-VID Binding, Port Security, Storm Control and DHCP Snooping to defend against a range of network threats. An integrated list of common DoS attacks is available, making it easier than ever to prevent them. In addition, the Access Control Lists (ACL, L2 to L4) feature restricts access to sensitive network resources by denying packets based on source and destination MAC address, IP address, TCP/UDP ports or VLAN ID. Users' network access can be controlled via 802.1X authentication, which works with a RADIUS/Tacacs+ server to grant access only when valid user credentials are provided.

Enterprise Level Features

A complete lineup of L2+ features is supported, including 802.1Q VLAN, Port Mirroring, STP/RSTP/MSTP, Link Aggregation Control Protocol, and 802.3x Flow Control. Advanced IGMP Snooping ensures the switch intelligently forwards multicast streams to only the appropriate subscribers, cutting out unnecessary traffic, while IGMP throttling & filtering restrict each subscriber on a port level to prevent unauthorized multicast access. Static Routing is a simple way of segmenting the network and internally routing traffic through the switch for improved efficiency.

Advanced QoS

Voice and video traffic can be prioritized based on IP address, MAC address, TCP port number, UDP port number, and more. With QoS (Quality of Service), voice and video services remain smooth, even when bandwidth is in short supply.

ISP Features

QinQ, L2PT PPPoE ID Insertion and IGMP authentication features are provided and developed with service providers in mind. 802.3ah OAM and Device Link Detection Protocol (DLDP) offer easy monitoring and troubleshooting of Ethernet links.

    Network Switch Buying Guide

Connect Multiple Devices to a Network and Route Data to Designated Devices

What is a network switch and what does it do?

    NSUG24C2 ethernet switch

Are there different types of network switches?

There are two main types of network switches, unmanaged and managed. The essential difference is the capability to configure the operation of a managed switch to customize and optimize network traffic for specific applications.

    Unmanaged Switches

    Managed Switches

Where do you place network switches?

Network switches are usually placed on a desk or table, mounted on a wall, or mounted in a rack. CompSource offers unmanaged desktop switches (with metal or plastic housing) and both unmanaged and managed rack-mount switches with metal housing and a built-in PDU (Gigabit Ethernet Switch PDU Combos).

What is a Gigabit Ethernet Switch PDU Combo?

CompSource offers an exclusive line of unmanaged and managed Gigabit Ethernet switches that have Power over Ethernet (PoE).

    Factors to Consider

Does your application require a managed switch?

If your application involves controlling network traffic, you will need the features of a managed switch. The following are some examples of tasks that require a managed switch:

    • Controlling access between departments within your LAN
    • Running many bandwidth-intensive applications simultaneously
    • Giving important data greater priority in your LAN
    • Improving the performance of a busy network
    • Implementing VoIP, wireless LANs or other advanced services

How many devices do you need to connect to your network?

Make sure you select a switch with enough Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbps) Ethernet ports for the devices you want to connect to your network. If you think you'll add more devices in the future, choose a switch that will give your network room to grow.

how many devices do you need to connect to your network

Do you need to connect multiple network switches?

If you plan to connect multiple network switches, look for models with SFP uplink ports (also known as Mini-GBIC ports). SFP uplink ports are connection points for SFP (small form-factor pluggable) modules that allow the switch to uplink to other switches using optical fiber cabling.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) uses existing network cables to power connected devices, such as VoIP phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras. If you need this functionality, look for a switch with Gigabit Ethernet ports that support PoE. Make sure the power per port (in watts) and the total power budget of the PoE ports meet the needs of your electronic devices.

I just wanted to let you know about my experience with my recent order with you. The order number is so-??????. I ordered a set of Sony wireless headphones on Wednesday morning and received the usual order confirmations from CompSource and PayPal. By Thursday afternoon I had not received a shipping confirmation so I was going to give you a quick call when I got home from work that evening to see if you had a general idea on when it might ship, only because if I had it by Saturday I could give it as a birthday gift a few days early. It was definitely not a big deal if I didn't get it by then. If it was, I'd have probably paid the extra to have it sent overnight. So, imagine my surprise when I got home from work on Thursday and saw the package was already sitting on the kitchen counter. You had best reasonable price, meaning a few other places had lower prices but they seemed to be located down quite a dark alley on the internet so no thanks. You had the item in stock, the shipping was free and you got it to me the next day. That's what I call a grand slam. Well done. Thanks again. Rick Rick
